About Me
Why do I do what I do?
Leading today can be a dichotomy – exciting and challenging, energizing and exhausting, fulfilling and frustrating. I’ve watched talented, brilliant leaders lose their passion and excitement under a barrage of work, changing priorities, and pivoting expectations. Early in my career, I had a wonderful coach who helped me to reignite my passion for both my work and my life outside of work. This coaching experience laid the foundation for my own coaching practice. Since then, I've had the chance to coach hundreds of leaders to help them move from survive to thrive and connect back to what drives and energizes them. I love to work with leaders who want to better themselves and create an environment to unlock the energy and brilliance of their teams.
Why me?
I had a good friend ask, what is my edge as a coach and consultant?
First, I've been there and done that. I spent 30 years in the trenches deeply learning and honing how I showed up, what I contributed, and how to keep things simple and have impact. I have been a leader of leaders and teams who had big hairy goals to deliver. I have decades of experience coaching hundreds of mid-level to C-suite leaders on people strategy, team dynamics, and behavior change, to name a few. And I have experienced the joy of seeing them have those "aha" moments that ignite meaningful change as they narrow the lens and focus on what really matters.
That leads me to my second edge, the focused and the few. On a macro level, I've watched leadership teams come up with ambitious strategic plans and initiatives full of a long list of important and complex goals. But we’ve all seen when too many “top priorities” creates confusion and challenges to successful execution. And if everything is a priority, it's hard to know where to focus your efforts. On a micro level, I've seen leaders hold themselves up to an impossible standard, fighting to accomplish those 20 priorities and berating themselves for falling short or for not showing up as the leader they want to be. Hence my mantra, the focused and the few. It's all about helping teams and leaders identify those top initiatives that will really add value and have impact and keeping a constant focus.
Finally, as a leader and a coach, I strive to live the concept of clear is kind. This principle lies at the heart of my coaching philosophy. My approach ensures that feedback is delivered with clarity and compassion, creating a safe environment to explore and practice how you can grow and thrive as a leader and as a person.
